What is virtual care?
Virtual care involves a one-on-one video conference with your physiotherapist on a secure platform. Your therapist will be able to see and hear you in order to assess your condition. Your therapist will then provide education, prescribe exercises and self-management strategies, and answer your questions. An appointment time will be booked for you and an email will be sent with instructions on how to connect to the session. Please contact the clinic to arrange an appointment.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No, we don't need a doctor's referral to assess and treat you. If you have extended health insurance that covers physiotherapy and/or massage therapy, you may require a doctor's referral in order to be reimbursed.
i have a doctor's referral, is treatment covered by ohip?
No, services at this clinic are not covered by OHIP.
will you bill my insurance directly?
Most insurance companies now allow us to submit your claim electronically. Please inquire with respect to your company's policies. When treatment is under WSIB, automobile insurance, and DVA, we will bill them directly once we have approval.
how many treatments will i need?
Once your therapist has assessed your condition, he or she will recommend a certain number of treatments and how often you should come.
how should i prepare for my appointment?
Plan to arrive a few minutes early to complete any paperwork. Bring any test results that are related to your condition and your doctor's referral, if you have one. Wear or bring comfortable clothing (shorts if it's a lower body injury, a tank top for neck or shoulder injury).
what does acupuncture do?
Acupuncture stimulates the nerves to relieve pain, stiffness, and inflammation. It helps to balance and improve the flow of energy in the body. More detailed information can be found here.
